Kudos for taking action!
Now let’s build real power on our campuses and across the state to stop further attacks on higher education.
The current wave of anti–higher education, anti-DEI, and privatization efforts isn’t happening in a vacuum. Across the country—especially in the South—we’re seeing a well-funded, highly coordinated network of think tanks and organizations pushing legislation in Frankfort and pressuring university administrators toward a for-profit model of higher education.
Groups like the Goldwater Institute and Americans for Prosperity have multi-million-dollar budgets to shape policy and public perception. But there are far more of us who believe higher education should be a public good, not a commodity.
We can’t take this on alone—not just as faculty, staff, or graduate workers, and not just at UofL or UK. It’s going to take you and your coworkers getting involved to challenge organized money with organized people power.
Join your fellow campus workers from across Kentucky in building a wall-to-wall union of faculty, staff, and student workers. Together, we can build the power to win the changes campus workers and students deserve.
